Crisson Gold Mine is an actual, old gold mine from the mid 1800's which was a functioning, commercial gold mine until the 1980's. Currently, it is the oldest gold mining establishment in North Georgia that remains open to the public. They have a stamp mill there which is something like 130 years old, and they still run it to this day!

Decided to visit an historic gold mine during a cold and rain day. The Consolidated Gold Mine has a great set up - everyone is welcome from young to old (there was a 6 mo old in our tour group) HOWEVER - this historical attraction is NOT accommodating if you can't walk up/down steep inclines and stairs.
