Vacuum Tables are often the best solution for the flat sheet work often being done on CNC Routers. You can lay an MDF spoilboard right on top of a vacuum table and it's porous enough to still pull a vacuum.
You can place a 3mm piece of MDF onto the table top surface. You can then place your part on top of the MDF. The MDF is porous and the pump is powerful enough such that the work is held "through the MDF". This allows for slight overcutting (0.2mm for example) to ensure perfect clean cutting on the bottom part surface.
This is especially important if you've had any valve seat work done, such as a 3-angle job or replacing the valve seats altogether. Factory spec, according to my machinist's book (it wasn't listed in my TSM) for valve tip height is 1.950-1.990" from the spring seat to the top of the valve tip.

Good little table if you understand this is a light weight compound table to be used for small projects. The dimensions of the unit are; table 12" x 3 1/2", overall height is 3", X & Y movement is 1 3/4" x 7 7/8". Table is aluminum, base is cast iron, adjusting screws are steal with brass nuts. Gibs are brass with very small steal screws.
