I also made a ltool holder that will hold a Fordoem tool in a rocker tool post. A Dumore tool post grinder will cost you a few hundred dollars on Ebay or much more new.

I have purchased a South Bend Lathe Tool Grinding Jig that has inserts for 1/8", 1/4", 5/16" and 3/8" square tool bits. I have figured out how to grind some of the angles on the bits but don't know how to use the jig to grind the rest of them.

May 29, 2013· There is one job for which a lathe tool post grinder is actually the best choice. That is truing the hard jaws on a universal chuck while it is installed on its own lathe. You have to have the proper way to load the jaws during grinding, but you end up with improved accuracy. Old newspaper is an ideal way cover while grinding.
